Vinyasa Yoga Center Yogi of the Year 2006 Awardee

Trin Panganiban-Custodio

Trin is a Program Director at Venture for Fund Raising, a nonprofit organization that helps other nonprofit groups raise the resources they need to fulfill their missions.

She first discovered yoga in 2004, but her regular practice did not come until mid-2005 under VYC Co-owner/yoga instructor Pio Baquiran. In late 2005, she was encouraged by Pio to explore further yoga training at Yoga Thailand where she participated in a two-week retreat on pranayama and the ashtanga yoga series. She practices at the Vinyasa Yoga Center at least 3 times a week, and has been a student there since the studio opened in 2006.

“Practicing yoga has helped me develop greater self-awareness. I believe that regular yoga practice is giving me the tools I need to deal with life’s daily stresses in a positive way. The weight maintenance, increased strength and flexibility are a great bonus too!

I’m grateful to have somehow crossed paths with Pio and Minna. What they’ve done is more than just run a successful yoga center. I think they’ve built our community of yoga friends and have given us Pasig/Ortigas people a special sanctuary within a 24/7 business district. VYC is an ideal practice place for me because it is really, really clean (kudos to Manang & Jerry!), quiet, and close to my office and condo unit. Practicing yoga is much, much more enjoyable and convenient now!” – Trin Panganiban Custodio
